What are you doing this evening? I am sitting on the patio drinking a refreshingly light and fruity rosé wine from Provence. I know, sounds fancy right?! Well kind of…I don’t look fancy, but I feel fancy. It’s been a long, hot day on the farm. It’s 90 degrees, 5 O’clock and the hubs is in the tractor. So, I think I’ll drink wine!
It seems like lately rosé wines are becoming more and more popular. Yes, it could be because we’re entering into summer and the mercury is on the rise; but, maybe also because people are looking for something a little different.
Made in many different styles, rosé is defined by where the grapes are grown and what type of grapes are used to produce it.
The wine comes in varying shades of pink, from almost red to slightly peach in color. Don’t let the colors fool you, each rosé has a personality all its own.
Rosé is perfect for a hot summer afternoon. The pretty pink drink is the perfect to sip in the summer’s hot sun. Sheesh, that’s a tongue twister!
The wine I’m drinking tonight a 2016 Fleur de Mer from Côtes de Provence from Provence, France. This wine is delicious! It reminds me of eating cold watermelon. It is crisp and has aromas of citrus, peach and lavender. Not to mention, this wine is super affordable at around $20! Without a doubt, this wine has converted me a rosé lover! I cannot wait to try another. Heck, maybe I’ll try it with my Spicy Asian Lettuce Wraps for dinner.
Please leave your comments below, I’d love to hear from you. Until next time, cheers!
